“It is a significant step for us to now be represented in the Italian market with our own company”, explained Peter Stockmeier, shareholder and CEO of the STOCKMEIER Group. “With this acquisition, we are further expanding our position as a chemical distributor in Europe. We look forward to working closely with the current shareholders Claudio Bombardieri and Giuseppe Mearini.”

Giuseppe Mearini, a shareholder and Managing Director of the company (a function he will continue to hold for the next few years), added, “The deal is part of a logical continuity with the past, respecting the values and the important heritage of relationships, both human and professional, that have characterised the history of Gamma Chimica since its foundation.”

Gamma Chimica, a company owned by Bombardieri family, Borghi family and Giuseppe Mearini, has been active in the Italian market for about forty years and plays a leading role in the distribution of chemical products used in the various industrial segments including pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and detergents. Today the company covers the whole of Italy and achieved a turnover of around EUR 275 million in 2021. The location of its different warehouses, both for solids and liquids, is one of the company's strengths, giving it a widespread presence in the market.
