Krahn Chemie Deutschland GmbH has entered into a technology partnership with Otec Präzisionsfinish GmbH, one of the leading providers in the field of slide grinding. The goal of the cooperation is to offer manufacturers of ceramic components and work pieces solutions for the finishing of surfaces on the basis of their bundled know-how. The cooperation territory will initially encompass the countries of Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy.

Since 1996, the Otec company has been developing and producing machine concepts for surface processing that enable the smoothing, polishing, deburring, rounding and precision finishing of ceramic or metal pasts at a level of quality that could only be achieved through manual processing to date. The result of the finishing effect depends not only on the correct use of the machines, but also on the selection of the process and treatment media, and is thus a highly complex matter. The application areas are varied. For ceramic materials, besides design applications like watches and jewelry, these also include ceramic components used in the automotive, textile, or mechanical engineering industries, among others. In addition, finishing is also required, for example, in medicine for dentures and implants.
